Paperboy (1986)
Paperboy is the 1986 Commodore 64 conversion of Atari's 1984 arcade hit, published by Elite. You ride a BMX down a suburban street delivering the Daily Sun to subscribers while dodging dogs, cars, lawnmowers and the occasional break-dancer. Hit the mailboxes, keep your customers happy, and survive a full week of deliveries — each day the route gets busier and the obstacles more chaotic.
Objective Deliver a newspaper to every subscriber's house (the highlighted ones) for each day of the week without losing all your lives. Controls Joystick in port 2 • Left / Right — Steer • Up / Down — Speed up / slow down • Fire button — Throw a newspaper Scoring • Land papers in mailboxes or on doorsteps of subscribers • Break windows of non-subscribers for bonus points • Damage a subscriber's house and they cancel their subscription Tips • You start with a limited number of papers — pick up bundles on the sidewalk to refill • Each day ends with a BMX obstacle course for bonus points • Miss a subscriber and you lose them for the next day; deliver to all for a perfect day Modes • 1 Player
